We spent the morning walking through the Garden District. The houses are unbelievable -- HUGE. Temperature dropped to the mid-high 70s and the "dew point" is "only" 56%. Perfect weather. We ended up at Whole Foods, a few miles down Magazine Street, filled with high end local shops. Even a yoga studio. Nothing like the French Quarter!
Lunch at Whole Foods was the most expensive of the trip so far and worth every penny. I had four kinds of vegetables. Larry made himself a big salad. We ate an entire carton of fresh berries and kiwi. Topped off with one of those incredible chocolate cookies.
Evening back in the French Quarter at the Jazz Playhouse, Legends Park and a sleazy bar with rockin' R&B. Walked down Bourbon Street. Beignets for dinner. How could it get any better?
have a question - what type of wine do you drink with beignets? And I assume you are eating your grits for breakfast.
ReplyDeleteI went to a program at the library tonight where a retired couple talked about, and showed slides of their bike trip from San Diego to Saint Augustine. Made me think of you.
If Jeff reads this maybe he can help me add my photo. For some reason the program will not accept the picture I use on Facebook.
Enjoy your trip
