Should have paid more attention in history class

That's true at most places we visit on this trip. We are so much more interested now and are able to put things in context, especially when you are standing where the history happened.

We thoroughly enjoyed Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown although we admit to a little living history fatigue. We did the full Williamsburg experience, including lunch at a tavern within the site.

We visited one of the two Jamestown complexes. The location on the river with lots of open space and a slight breeze on a 90+ degree day were most welcomed! They built the visitor center over part of the archeological ruins and you see them through a glass floor.

We only did the visitors center at Yorktown but have found them all to be marvelous. The movies and exhibits are very well done. Once again, Yorktown was on the river with lots of beckoning green space.
