Welcome to Louisiana

Destination Houma, Louisiana, and Jimmy's swamp tour.  Jimmy's grandparents killed alligators and snakes for a living and his mother was famous as Alligator Annie for the tours she started at 65 years old.  During the 2.5 hour tour through swamps and bayous we saw lots of birds and even alligators.  He'd call the alligators and feed them chicken he so we were able to see them up close.  The best part was spanish moss dripping off the trees.  We were lucky to have a few clouds now and then as it was very hot -- high 80s and humid.  On the advice of a local on the boat tour we had dinner at Big Als, which was filled locals.  (Easy to understand:  the Houma visitor bureau could be accused of embellishing its high points, hence few tourists.)  It was amazing -- most people had huge trays of crawfish.  We had boiled shrimp, catfish and crawfish. Can't get much more Louisiana than that!
