Vegas, Baby, Vegas

We had an absolutely wonderful time in Las Vegas.

Ken and Lesley are staying just off the south end of the Strip and we are 5-6 miles farther south in a Worldmark so we park at their resort and walk, walk, walk.  We walked for miles up and down the strip the first day and didn't begin to see all of it.  After a great Chinese dinner with the four of us, Larry and I went (walked another 5 miles roundtrip) to the Cirque du Soliel Beattles' Love - our first Cirque show.  It was an amazing production that can hardly be described.  Most expensive show tickets we've ever bought and completely worth it!

Monday we all went to Red Rock Canyon, a national conservation area, that was stunning.  Made lots of stops along the scenic 12-mile loop within the area and had an impromptu picnic out of our snack bag and fruit from that morning's breakfast at their resort.  It was a perfect lunch because we went to the Spice Market Buffet at the Planet Hollywood Hotel for dinner and did our best to get our money's worth.  Except we didn't really pay anything for it.  Won't go into details but Ken managed to snag an amazing deal from their concieige - you know how we Americans like Australians and it was his birthday....  We paid a bargain price for Vegas! The Show tickets and essentially got the buffet for free.  Dinner was great and the show was very good and so much fun - a musical revue that follows the history of old Vegas and the entertainers.  Show girls, the Rat Pack, amazing magician etc. without the crude, bawdiness of so many of the shows.  We all loved it and would highly recommend it!

So the Hulberts were out past midnight two nights in a  row!  Today (Tuesday) Ken and Lesley are taking a helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon while we are doing laundry, going to sit by the pool and getting ready for the drive home starting bright and early tomorrow morning.
